Since I am the fellow selling the work, perhaps my opinion can't be trusted - but I'm going to give it anyway.

As I've spent time framing & hanging this body of watercolors, I've come to realize that elements of each painting that appeared at first to be incidental, or coincindental, flourishes and details were in fact purposeful strokes that all were a part of Mr. Dubin's master plan.

It is to the artist's credit that these joyful and lively paintings are not only enjoyable at a first glance,  but they also hold their quality under strong scrutiny over a long period of time.

So, thank you Bill, for exerting great energy to create a body of work that is so thoroughly enjoyable!

I still feel slightly intimidated commenting on art, but I've been excited about this. There is indeed something both familiar and unusual about Dubin's pieces. I'm really looking forward to seeing how they translate in person. I heard something about home brewed beer (not that this is my motivation for coming). Is that still happening?

Thanks for the post Santacecelia.  No need to feel intimidation - all you have to know is whether you like it!

Regarding the brew - I get to see the paintings everyday, so the stout that Aldea Brewery has created is the only reason I'm going to the reception Wink

Just kidding, if you are reading this, Bill.  March 29 has been the highlight of my calendar for 2 months now.

First off, sorry to all for this being my first post.  Anyway, i am enjoying this body of work as well.  I consider the downtown and 4th Ave area my neighborhood, and it is enjoyable to see it through Mr Dubin's eys and brushstrokes.  I pass the Rialto ("Rialto" #3") theatre on my way to the gallery and home again each day as well as frequent the Grill ("Downtown Cafe") every weekend.
